Stokesville Campground  

COURSE

Home to some of the best mountain bike trails and events in Virginia, Stokesville Campground will serve as the launching point for a challenging 3.5 mile loop. Similar to last year's course, the course will start and finish below the campground pavilion.  The loop is a combination of new, machine-built singletrack, fire road and grassy fields.

DIRECTIONS: From I-81 take exit 240. Follow Rt. 257 to Bridgewater. Take a left on Rt. 42 south, cross the bridge leaving Bridgewater and turn right onto Rt. 727. Follow to T and turn left staying on 727. Follow to stop sign, turn left onto Rt. 730, and follow to Stokesville. At next stop sign turn left on Rt. 730 again and cross over the Iron Bridge. The Stokesville Campground is immediately on your right.

 

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICK-UP

Saturday, October 15: 3:00-5:00 PM

Sunday, October 16: 8:00-9:00 AM

All new racers MUST pick up packet between 3-5:00 PM on Saturday, October 15th or 8-9:00 AM on Sunday, October 16th. Yes, this includes Varsity racers who race later in the afternoon.  Registration tent is located at the start/finish area. New racers will be issued chip timing number that will be used for the entire season. It is important that racers bring the same number to every race. Replacement numbers cost $25 each. Riders who already have number plate do not need to register or check in. Just show up to the start line at appropriate time. 

RACE WAVES & START TIMES

**Middle School A riders who complete first lap in over 40 minutes will not be permitted to start second lap. Riders will be scored based on first lap placing. Riders who are unlikely to complete lap in under 40 minutes should race in Middle School B category. 

COURSE PREVIEW

Course is open to pre-ride on Saturday afternoon/evening between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM as well as between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM on Sunday. Course closes promptly at 9:30 AM on Sunday. No riders are allowed to enter course after 9:30. Riders must have registered for race and be compliant in Pit Zone before departing on pre-ride. Race numbers must be displayed on all bikes of riders pre- riding course. Coaches may ride with athletes during pre-ride, but family/friends may not. 

TEAM ZONE

Each registered team is provided a 10x10 (10x20 for teams with over 15 riders) in the "PIT ZONE" located next to the start/finish. Teams may bring tents and other equipment into the PIT ZONE. 

PARKING

Please follow signs to parking/campground.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are located at the upper bath house.  Portable toilets will also be available on site.   

CAMPING

Stokesville Campground is a private campground about 17 miles west of Staunton, VA on back roads about 20 miles from the interstate. The road entering the campground is a narrow, one-way road with various entry and exit points on the property. Please look for signs.

Stokesville has waived the property access fee (day use fee) for the NICA event weekend Camping Fees are as follows -- Individual $10 per person/ Family $30. This includes ONE vehicle (additional vehicles $10 per night).

Do not bring firewood. There is plenty on-site to burn in previously existing fire-pits only.  Dogs are allowed. Please keep them on a leash and bring your papers for them in case there is an incident.  Use the Entrance to enter and the Exit to leave (not the same).  

Check-in is open as early as 3pm on Friday, October 14th. Closest supply store (1 mile away) is Stokesville Market and Supply, located at 90 N River Rd, Mt. Solon, VA 22843; tel (540) 350-2177. The closest grocery store is Riverside Grocery located at 23 Scenic Hwy Rd, Churchville, VA 24421; tel (540) 337-6009.

Hotels: There are hotel options available in Staunton and Harrisonburg.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • NO GASOLINE GENERATORS ON SITE
  • Those petitioning for exceptions to category placements must do so in the required time frame (7 days before race day) before the race. Same-day petitions will not be considered. 
  • Please pack out all trash.  

FOOD

The Wing-It food truck will be selling a variety of delicious sandwiches and wraps all day on Sunday.
