Miller School of Albemarle's course is a moderately technical 3.5-mile loop with a combination of gravel, grass, double track, and single track trails. It begins with a flat grass and gravel section before going up a steep double track climb. Riders then descend down a moderately technical descent. This is followed by enjoyable and moderately technical single track trails. The course goes back through central campus (FEED ZONE OPEN IN ALL RACES AT THIS POINT ON COURSE) before jumping into the final section of single track that leads riders up a climb to the finish line. Lap times range between 18 minutes and 45 minutes. 


8:00-9:30 AM

All pre-registered racers MUST pick up packet between 8-9:30 on Saturday, September 17. Yes, this includes Varsity racers who race later in the afternoon.  Registration tent is located at the start/finish area. Racers will be issued chip timing number that will be used for the entire season. It is important that racers bring the same number to every race. Replacement numbers cost $25 each. 

Late registration open Friday 4:00-7:00 PM and Saturday 8:00-9:00 AM. 


**Middle School A riders who complete first lap in over 40 minutes will not be permitted to start second lap. Riders will be scored based on first lap placing. Riders who are unlikely to complete lap in under 40 minutes should race in Middle School B category. 


Course is open to pre-ride on Friday afternoon/evening between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM as well as between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM on Saturday. Course closes promptly at 9:30 AM on Saturday. No riders are allowed to enter course after 9:30. Riders must have registered for race and be compliant in Pit Zone before departing on pre-ride. Race numbers must be displayed on all bikes of riders pre-riding course. Coaches may ride with athletes during pre-ride, but family/friends may not. 


Each registered team is provided a 10x10 (10x20 for teams with over 15 riders) in the "PIT ZONE" located next to the start/finish. Teams may bring tents and other equipment into the PIT ZONE. Vehicles and trailers are NOT allowed in this area, so teams need to carry equipment from parking area to PIT ZONE. 


Parking is only available in the large field on the left when you enter campus. Follow signs and park in an orderly fashion to maximize use of space. There is NO PARKING on central campus or next to the start/finish. Please do not attempt to park in school parking spaces close to start/finish. 


Porto-pots will be available in parking area. Additional restrooms will be open in Caton Hall basement next to start/finish line. Please do not go into any other campus buildings looking for restrooms (especially Wayland Hall next to parking area). School is in session; dormitories & academic buildings are strictly closed to race participants.


  • Those petitioning for exceptions to category placements must do so in the required time frame (7 days before race day) before the race. Same-day petitions will not be considered. 
  • Please pack out all trash.  


Wing-It Food Truck will be selling their famous BBQ all day on Saturday. If you have not had Wing-It before, you are in for a treat. This is one of the best food trucks in the state. Vegetarian options will be available as well. 

Neutral water is provided for all athletes and coaches.
